CALIBAN Recording Album Of Covers
February 7, 2011German metalcore band CALIBAN has issued the following update:
"It's time for some exciting news: we're heading towards the studio in a week's time to record cover songs! Our friend and producer Benny Richter will be keeping an eye on us again and we're hyper-excited about how the results are going to sound like.
"We're not revealing the secret of which songs we will be covering exactly (yet!),but if you visited our last European winter tour you might have [seen] us performing RAMMSTEIN's 'Sonne', which will be one of the ten songs we are recording.
"Talking about the other nine songs, we chose from the very best classics and milestones of our youth, but we will also surprise you with some more current cover songs. And we promise, we're not just sticking to one genre!
"Of course, we want to keep you as close as possible to the production process and there are going to be pictures and even a special Caliban TV episode recorded at the studio.
"If you're wondering when this jewel will be available to you, we will have to ask you to practice patience until April/May. We assure you, it's worth waiting…"
CALIBAN's "No One Is Safe" video can be viewed below. The song comes off the group's seventh album, "Say Hello To Tragedy", which landed at No. 97 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart (featuring the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200).
"Say Hello To Tragedy"entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 36. The LP also debuted at No. 71 on the official Download chart.
"Say Hello To Tragedy" was released in Europe on August 24, 2009 via Century Media Records (one day later in the U.S.). The follow-up to 2007's "The Awakening" was once again produced by Benny Richter, co-produced by guitarist Marc Goertz and was mixed by KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz. The artwork for the CD was created by Basti Basti of CALLEJON, who has previously worked with such bands as HEAVEN SHALL BURN and WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH.
